Despite its exotic connotations, India paper refers only to our predilection to peruse dictionaries, India paper being the thin paper common to thick reference works. And how does this relate to old photos? Just as a dictionary is a comprehensive gathering of verbal language, a collection of vintage photographs, deliberately preserved and organized, provides a stunning account of the visual language of everyday life, past and present. In a slightly different way, the same is true of the transient and often incidental paper items that filtered through the hands of people now gone. Old letters, pamphlets, broadsides, menus, identification cards, advertisements, invoices, etc. offer the little details of human routines that often get ignored in broader studies of history.

We prefer payment via personal check or money order (in American dollars only). Of course, we also accept PayPal. Payment within seven days of the auction's end date is much appreciated.

We ship items Monday through Friday. All photographs are protected by rigid plastic holders (or clear mylar sleeves for large images), carefully packaged, and shipped in padded envelopes. Each package is sent with a delivery confirmation number. Please note, we cannot be responsible for uninsured items that get lost in the mail. Insurance is extra at buyer's discretion. Returns are accepted within seven days of the item's delivery date. Please notify us first before returning the item.

We enjoy communicating directly with customers and collectors. Most of the photos and other ephemeral items in our inventory never make it on eBay, simply because we don't have the time to list them.
