eBay My World: insta-cool-o-matic( 1769)

Mostly, I just ebay for fun. I sell to keep up with my buying habits! As a buyer and a seller, I think, like many ebayers, I try to keep a balanced perspective. Call it the Zen of ebay.

I am an audiophile and bibliophile, so much of what I sell is culturally relevent therein. I also cut a dashing figure, so I sometimes sell items to the fashionistas. Music gear, art supplies, etc. Or maybe whatever cool stuff I might find at the flea markets, thrift stores, yard sales and junk stores of greater New England. Lately I've been selling a lot of my paintings.

Mostly books, CD's, musical gear and clothes.

I am a NYC shown painter, a published short story and poetry writer, and a performing musician.

As I'm doing ebay for fun, as I mentioned, I always try to pay promptly when I buy, and describe my items well and send them out on time. But we all make mistakes; as a buyer I prefer my sellers to have a heart and forgive the occasional tardiness. As a seller, I prefer the same from buyers, I'm just a guy, not some evil corporation. Also as a seller, I have no set timelines, restrictions, etc. As long as you pay eventually, I'll work with you, newbie or not. Ebay should be fun, and if it's not, why do it? Over five years, out of over 1500 transactions, I've only given and received negative feedback once, and that was with a very angry and troubled, unreasonable person. Only met a few so far, for which I am grateful. But they are out there, and I'm not one of them. Anyhoo, I think that's a pretty good record. I have never received negative feedback as a seller. I hope to keep it that way. Work with me, my droogies. You are invited.

Been working with folks with developmental disabilities and mental illness my entire life, 'cuz it's hard out here for an art grad...or should I say art fag (that's what we were referred to as, at least back in Boston in the 80's)? I've been fortunate enough to have taught at three of New England's preeminent art studios for artists with disabilities. When I go home at night, I feel like I've contributed something...tho' I get back probably more than I give. Not a day goes by when I don't receive spontaneous hugs for just standing there.
