History/background
Hearts of Hope SC opened in March 2008. Jennifer and Lisa had started planning this over dinner one night the summer prior. Jennifer who is a cancer survivor was working in the banking industry and Lisa was working in the medical field. They both felt that their community needed a place to go to for help with their needs and support following cancer treatments.
As they were planning their venture, Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer in October. Plans were put on hold until her treatments ended. They both knew, more than ever, the need for support and education. They committed to have an environment that is comforting, helpful and supportive. Hearts of Hope SC went online in October 2008 with the same mission.
