How I spend my time
Two to three days a week I work at my church's Benevolence Center. I am involved in choir and intensive Bible study. I am currently planning on a mission trip to Ghana in May.
Let's not forget eBay, I am selling some of my collections because I need more space for dress design. I also help my husband in his business, keeping his books and also as backup support.
Business InformationHistory/background
BS in Physics, MBA, PhD Engineering.
I lived and worked in the US and in Europe for my own company as a systems engineer and project management for 20 years. While working in Paris, I was fortunate to have been able to enroll in Haute Couture classes. While in Germany, I sold my designs to the House of Frazer. After moving to Australia, I started working for IBM Global Services for Y2K responsible for all of the joint ventures and subsidiaries in the Asia-Pacific region (lots of travel and no time for designing). Upon completion of the contract, I started working as the CIO of the National Heart Foundation of Australia.
In March of 2002, my husband and I moved to Florida to be with my mother after my father’s death. Having retired from my “career”, I am starting another “career” that I have dreamed about since my grandmother gave me my very own sewing machine at 7 years old – clothing design.

Dress Design History
While in high school I used to design and made full wardrobes for people for money to buy all matching shoes and purses to match my own designed clothes. Prom time was always a busy time for me! I loved to design wedding dresses. I would talk to the bride and listen to her ideas and assess her features, draw a couple of designs with fabric samples until we got it right and then be satisfied when she beamed with joy at her finished creation. One instance when I was older, I was in Washington, DC on assignment living in a hotel room, when a secretary (a little on the heavy side) was about to get married… Well I ended up borrowing a sewing machine, using paper bags for pattern design paper and making one wedding dress and 3 bridesmaid’s dresses in a week after work in my hotel room. It was worth every minute of it when the groom said to me, “I have never seen her look so beautiful and trim.”
