The best thing that ever happened to me was that my house burned and i lost everything! It seemed like the worst thing until i had to fill out the insurance forms and because i had old junk my agent suggested i get prices from E-bay.My flea market and thrift store junk was suddenly vintage and worth 10-100 times what i paid for it!I started selling by using my printer/scanner and a very cheap camera just to amuse myself.I had no self confidence and had long ago given up dreams of ever having enough capital to start my own buisness but I did so well that after a year the numbers convinced me that this was a real job.
