My cigar box guitars have a history and a mojo built-in right from their beginning. I strive to combine vintage and used parts with new materials to create unique instruments. Every one of my guitars is different – they have their own voice. A cigar box guitar can be made out of anything. Everything is optional. There are no rules that apply to building or playing a cigar box guitar. Strings, from 1 to 6, are optional. Frets are optional. Even a finish on the completed instrument is optional. It’s all about simplification and stripping the guitar down to its basics. If you can imagine a specification, a cigar box guitar can be built to it.

I am currently filming the follow up DVD to “How To Build A Guitar.” Starting off where the first DVD left off, I am covering two different topics on four different guitars including: 1) An even easier build for children that focuses on just hand tools. It’s also a great 5-minute build for adults. 2) Pushing the limits to make an Electric Cigar Box Guitar from scratch. I’m even winding the pickups but not out of what you might think!
