Vintage Classic Guitar B5 B50 Style Chrome Vibrato Tremolo B-Stock Flat Top
Oct 26, 2016
Generic B5 unbranded import vibrato
I have used a couple of these unmarked-unbranded copies of the B5 vibrato. They work fine, and operate as easily as the genuine unit, but keep in mind a few differences. First, the weight is greater, being made of a zinc alloy, instead of an aluminum alloy as are the B5, and B50 as supplied by Bigsby. The weight is about 14 1/2 ounces instead of 9 1/2 ounces, which is about 50 % heavier. On a heavy Telecaster, this won't be greatly noticed, but on a very light guitar, it could be detected if you are sensitive to balance. On a light guitar which may be neck-heavy, it could be an advantage. On a guitar which you have played a lot, possibly a good ear could detect a tonal difference, but I have added to new guitars, so i can't tell about this aspect. The roll pins which retain the string ball are longer, and it might be useful to shorten them with a file, if the appearance bothers. You will also note a slight burr around the bottom of the frame , at the point where the frame would touch the top of the guitar, which can be filed off if necessary, although it never interferes with mounting. The finish is a chrome plate, rather than a polished aluminum, so the overall appearance is a little brighter, but this is probably a personal taste issue. This unit has the same needle bearings on the string bar as any Bigsby , and the feel, in operation is hard to tell from an authentic Bigsby.

Remington 1100, 11-87 Monte Carlo 12 Gauge Stock and Forend - 19485
Dec 23, 2016
REMINGTON MONTE CARLO STOCK-1100
This is a authentic Remington product- and I fitted it to 40 year old 1100- 12ga field gun. I wanted a higher comb for trap shooting, to raise impact point of shot charge. It (stock and fore-end-both of glass filled plastic) does the job well, and actually feels better than the original wood parts, with the fore end being a little slimmer than the original 1100 unit, which always seemed a little too fat. It was a great buy, and fit perfectly. I did remove the original spacer plate between the stock and receiver as the molded stock has a slightly longer boss, and doesn't need the spacer. The only tricky part is removing the nut from the stock tube, which houses the recoil spring. The old ones have only a slot for a very large flat bit screwdriver, and can take quite a lot of torque to remove, especially after 40 years, and a little rust. Unless you are quite handy at improvising tools, you might want to have a gunsmith or experienced mechanic change the stock for you. I think that the newer 1100 and 11-87 use a hex headed nut which could be removed with a socket, but I have no idea when the change of nut design occurred.
Black & Decker Gyro 4V Rechargeable Screwdriver BDCS40G SEALED Lithium

GYRO- rechargeable screwdriver
Probably the most useful tool of recent years, since it takes no switching from forward to reverse, and speed is controlled merely by how much you twist in desired rotation direction. The solid state gyro controls everything and makes use a one hand action as natural as using a regular screwdriver. Speed and power are better than most of the other rechargeable units in the same price range, and usefulness can't be matched.
