eBay My World: jparkerparis( 292)

I'm a native Texan, originally from Paris, Texas. I live 60 miles North of Dallas. I got on ebay a while back to see if I could find some of my old dolls. Soon, I was buying all my old Barbies, my mother's old Barbies & my daughters old Barbies!

Vintage Barbies, I've over-bought, but I've found a new love and hobby in the process. I enjoy playing with Barbies...styling their hair, picking the perfect outfits for them and buying or making their jewelry. This is only a hobby for me... not a job (I have a full time job at a newspaper in real life). I sell my extra or duplicate items for fun, not to make a profit... When I sell a Barbie item, I turn around and buy another Barbie item, so I guess I'm just trading on ebay:)

Vintage Barbies, I started out seeking my old Barbies (1976-1983), but now also have many vintage and modern Barbies. My two teenage daughters think I'm crazy. They've outgrown dolls. They can't believe their mom still wants to play with them:)

Vintage Barbies, I'm still new to collecting Barbies. I'm not a mint collector and I've been guilty of de-boxing a few of the barbies from my time. I think they're too pretty to leave in the box! I've found buying and diplaying old Barbies to be a great way to reconnect with my childhood and to get a glimpse of another time in history. I've had fun identifying Barbies and learning their history through ebay, reading Barbie collecting books and studying Barbie websites.
