All About MeWhat everyone should know about me
I retired from state government and owning my own balloon decorating business to live the country life six miles from the ocean. I can't imagine living any other place. It's marvelous. I'm very honest and expect everyone else to be also.

RETALIATION FEEDBACK. My FIRST BUYING experience on ebay was a lulu. A power seller gave me a negative feedback AFTER I gave her a neutral. I won the bid, paid w/PayPal immediately, requested and paid for Priority Mailing. After 15 days I contacted her and asked where my book was. Her answer, Oh it's been mailed. I received the book two days later with the shipping date being the day I called. The service was lousy, the book was exactly as described and what I wanted so I left a neutral feedback. What did I get in return RETALITORY FEEDBACK.
Business InformationHistory/background
I started quilting after I retired and moved to the coast. My goal is to make as many different tradtional patterns as I can. Each and every quilt/top is a learning experience and NONE ARE PERFECT. Each is ONE OF A KIND. I really try hard to create a quality product during my learning experience, however, I will stress again that each will probably have a flaw. The points might not meet exactly, a seam might not be EXACTLY 1/4 inch, heaven forbid, or exactly straight or the top might not lay as flat as it should. I have yet to see a perfect quilt but I'll keep looking and keep trying to make it.
I create quilts for the learning process but I also create them with the hopes that one day they will be loved, which means being used. These are not heirloom quilts, these are quilts intended to be used and abused and loved.
Payment policy
I accept PAY PAL ONLY. No cashier's checks, nor money orders, nor personal checks. WHY????? Being ripped off a few times did it. Oh, yes I accept CASH in person.
Shipping information
I ship Priority, Insured. Insurance is only a few dollars more to protect your investment. Don't cheap out on it. It's worth it. I ship priority because the post office gives me the boxes free and I want you to get your product in a timely manner.
Return policy
I don't offer refunds, returns, or exchanges. I'm not a major chain store with a money back guarantee. I am a little old lady enjoying my retirement sewing to my hearts content and needing a way to keep doing it without depleting the retirement fund. I try really hard to describe the article to the best of my ability. Please read the descriptions carefully and ask questions. If the picture doesn't show you enough detail ask me for a better one. I'll send it if I can. Read prior feedback. P.S. Two quilts were returned when I first started selling, one came back with mud all over it and the second came back with cat urine on it. Need I say any more??

PRICING
Please take into consideration these are not mass produced items being made in a sweat shop in a foreign country. These are ONE OF A KIND hand-crafted items from the USA. I use a spreadsheet which is formula based for pricing all of my products. I put in how much the material cost and the spreadsheet figures the rest. The formula is this: MATERIAL + LABOR + OVERHEAD = Cost of Making Product + PROFIT = STITCHER'S SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE. After a long talk with our tax person I don't sell anything without using the pricing formula. Doing so would be like shooting myself in the foot. Most crafter's DO NOT use a formula like this one. Most crafter's are selling their products for less than it cost them to make. They don't figure in their labor or overhead and they certainly don't figure in a profit. That's why you see so many hand-crafted/home-crafted items selling for dirt cheap. I value my time and products enough to charge what they are worth.
Technical Stuff
I have shelves full of quilting books with patterns galore. However, if I use these books to MAKE & SELL a quilt, copyright raises it's ugly head. Most companies say I can't make and sell even ONE quilt from a pattern in their books. SO...that lead me to designing my own quilts from tradtional copyright free patterns.
The quilts/tops you purchase from me are ones I alone designed on my computer. I follow no one's instructions, except those I've learned in my experience of piecing. You are truly buying a HOME-CRAFTED, ONE OF A KIND item when you purchase my product. The only exception to this would be certain wall hangings that are paper pieced and would be so noted in the descriptions.
My home is SMOKE FREE. And as of October 3, 2007 our home is PET FREE also. We laid to rest our wonderful 19+ year old black cat who was banned from the sewing studio. Remodeling half of the garage gave me a bright spacious sewing room.
