Yard Fard , What is a Fardie?
Fardie, hummmmm, an odd lot of people who frequent yard sales and have fat fingers when typing and are fluent at reading typos.
Once upon a time a Yard Sale item (estate sale at a yard anyhow) was spied and obtained by a very sweet woman in Florida that also owned an antique store named Morning Glory and had a great dog named Winston for her companion and mascot.
Anyway, she posted a picture on the AL board about her find, which was a very ornate metal hard hat, in her haste to post her picture, her thread read something like this...Help ID fard hat and it was a good day on the AL board and soon it was the Fard Hat found at a Yard Fard and a pretty wonderous transformation came about and a froup was formed and exisits today because of all the laughter, typos, finds and hints and comraderie shared over that beginning typo.

What is a fardie part 2
I was a early responder because I absolutely LOVED the way the word Fard sounded and had the pleasure of watching the auction get built, many minds helping ID the Fard Hat, another insatnt online friend offer help to start a website and the chance for us to all cash in on the true treasure of not junk, but a friendly place to chat and bouce ideas and life off of each other.
So a Fardie, is one who
A. Likes Yard Sales and such
B. Is prone to laughing about Typos and quite capable of making and reading them
C. Knows enough about the current group to accept others with warts and flaws and knows that Lilo and Winston were the founding of who lives in Fardville now.
That's it. Anybody can be one if they want to be one.
You are all very welcome to come and visit, or set down roots and grow more eBay Family there. :-)
Book Over, the Website is Yardfard dot com and there is usually a thread on page one of the AL board with Fard or FARDIE in it.
