I don't read very often (I'm a math person), but occasionally I will find a book that I really like: all of the Harry Potters books, books by Meg Cabot, and occasionally a good mystery or thriller (though I haven't read one in a while), and I loved The Catcher in the Rye.

I mostly listen to classic rock, 60's and 70's pop, and 70's soul music, but I do like some modern music as long as it's not too loud or obnoxious.
