Why Renewable Energy
I worked a great deal of of career in the energy industry and we are running out of energy and place where the air is still pristine. We all need to do what we can to switch to power sources that are long live and don't add to our problems. Solar and wind are very good options, they are generally cost effective with today's incentives, and the payback just gets higher as energy prices continue to soar. My cabin is totally solar and has been for 18 years.
Technical and Design Skills
As one of the owners I supply design and installation advice to potential buyers. I am a Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado, but I am not doing engineering design for you remotely. For actual engineering work, you will need to hire a local engineer that can examine your structure and determine appropriate mounts and angles. Actually much of the real skills you need to design and install a solar system are available in the book I sell in my store, the 2007 Photovoltaics Design and Installation Manual. Don't worry it is not my book, it is published by SEI a not for profit that provides training class around the world, this is their classroom textbook for photovoltaics, it really does cover everything.
