Magellan Roadmate 2000 GPS is a waste of money and time
Well. Not much good we can say about this useless unit. We travel a lot doing various shows all over the US, and figured we could use a portable GPS ot help sus with sometimes unfamiliar roads and less than perfect mapquest directions. Well, this unit will do a great job at getting you,,,,,,,,LOST. That's right - LOST. We feel we are writing an honest review, after attempting to use this unit for 4 months with not a single success story.
1) Unit simply does not recognize most areas.
2) List of POI's is almost non existent, but it makes no difference as it will never get you there anyway
3) Unit constantly shuts off on its own, leaving you stranded, especially if you have a turn or an exit coming up
4) It gives out of this world directions. We were approaching a 2 mile bridge and it signaled that we have a left turn coming up in 0.5 miles. We were going over a bridge and it beeped that our left turn is coming up, and when we kept on straight (naturally), it signaled that we missed our turn. WHAT??? It got us almost lost on 3 different occasions. Luckily, one of us was semi-familiar with the route, and stopped to ask. Of course, this roadmate was not only taking us the opposite direction, it took us along a "scenic" route on the way there, eventhough we programmed for shortest distance.
5) Tech support is virtually non-existent, and when you do get an indian speaking "sam" onthe line, you cannot understand what they are trying to tell you, or rather read from a script.
The only positive thing about this unit, its its vibrant color screen, but that totally does not matter, as it won't help you getting to your destination, or even close to it.
For your own benefit - Stay away from this unit. there are at least 4 other unit in the same price range that are much better. We have settled for Garmin. So far - no complaints.

Tired of Boring Barney and Baby Einstein songs?Try this
If you are tired of same old Boring Barney and Baby Einstein songs and music - you have to Try Susie Tallmans Cds, and Lets go! in particular. This is a great Award Winning! compilation of clever songs that help make that potentially prickly "toddler drive time" a total pleasure. This CD is perfect for kids and adults. Some parents are said to love it even more than their kids.

Konica Minolta x1 digital camera - Don't waste your $$$
UPDATE to our original review. Almost ALL photos are not coming out blurred our totally out of focus. Tech support says that auto focus might be broken as it breaks easily and not repairable- WHAT? You have to be kidding me. We are sending it off to repair anyway, see what they do.
________________________________
We have bought this camera to use in our business, primarily to take photos of kids during fundraisers that we conduct.
This is our 6th Minolta and probably last.
some reasons that have influences us to buy this camera were:
1. Minolta quality and reputation
2. 8 mp
3. Metal frame
4. Good value for the price
Many people write reviews after using the camera for just several weeks or months. We have used ours for over a year before putting up a review. ( thre is a good reason why product warranties have dwindled down from 3-5 years to 90 days - 1 year).
first thing is first: This is NOT a Minolta camera. This camera is made 100% by Konica ( a company that has been bankrupt 3 times so far), and only carries a dual name because Minolta - a parent company, owns konica. As we found out, minolta and konica have different customer service / tech suport centers. It is next to impossible getting help from anyone at Konica. We experienced this firsthand while our camera was still under warranty, and if yours is out of warranty,,,,,,,,fuggetaboutit. We finally have a working camera again, but it took almost 3 months to straighten things out, as Konica really does not stand behind their product, even when its under warranty.
Some great features of this camera are: full metal casing, one of the largest LCD screens on the market, sleek compact design, anti-shake. One of the must-have features in a camera for me is a NICAD battery, rather than AA or AAA. This camera does have a NICAD battery, and thus gets a pretty good battery life as well. ( rechargeable AA batteries just dont cut it with todays digital cameras)
Some issues: this camera is VERY slippery , due to stainless steel casing, so handle it carefully, and try to get a clamshell casing for it ( though it does make the camera much more bulky)
anti-shake feature is GREAT, BUT pictures come out blurry with any setting type when anti-shake is used. Konica admits this, but has no explanation for it. It also has a much longer delay between focusing and actually capturing a picture. Other cameras, such as Elph, are much faster.
anti-shake aside, when not using it, majority of pictures come out fine, if you give the camera 2-3 seconds to focus. When taking photos in medium-low light, pictures still come out blurry, and flash does not help, as it simply "blinds" a piece of the shot.
Overall: If you are looking for a camera that takes absolutely the best picture possible, then this is NOT a camera for you, but if you are not a picky photo professional, and simply want to have a good digital camera for leisurely use, then for the price, this is a decent camera. It does have some good features of a higher priced cameras.
