Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 DL Super for Sony/Maxxu
Nice solid feel, though made mostly of plastic.Has metal mount which will probably stand for test of time and multiple changes.Pictures were sharp and clear. It was used on a Maxxum 7D.The nice feature I like about this lens is the macro switch which has a 1:2 magnification. Thus I need only carry one lens for nature and leave my 100mm macro back home.

Film-era optic on today's digital...great combo
Film era optic which works well on today's Nikon digital cameras. I use this on my Nikkor 400mm EDIF f/5.6 and 200mm Micro-IF f/4.0 coupled to a Nikon D610. Great results. With the camera's expandable ASA settings you don't have to worry about the loss in aperture speed when you add the teleconverter to them. As usual you get Nikon's durability and lens sharpness. If you can find one for under $100, buy it . You will not be disappointed.
