I picked SS to collect as there are not a lot of nice specimens left and they are very hard to aquire. There are many forgery/counterfeits among the rare and the common coins? I have been collecting perhaps four years on Straits Settlements and have most all of the coins except some of the Half Dollars and some of the Dollars. Individual prices on the Halves and Dollars reach heights this ole farm boy really has to work at affording! Everytime I sell my duplicates, I buy something I don't have. The Dealers and Collectors from Singapore and Malayisa have been great to work with. Many US collectors have a dim view of buying from the Asian Dealers, but I have had nothing but great experiance dealing with them. There was a glaring Counterfeit I bid on and 3 Dealers e-mailed me that it was a FAKE! After I assured them I knew and wanted it, they gave what they knew about the fakes and offered scans of others to watch for. Very nice guys to work with!!

Grew up on Farm in Central Kansas. Attended Kansas State University, Agriculture Education Major. Total Active and Reserve Army time over 32 yrs. Worked as a Therapist in a Mental Health Day Treatment Program and in a Drug and Alcohol Half Way House. Farmed and raised Simmental Cattle and Treeing Walker Coon Hounds! My wife has become Disabled and I am now am a full time caregiver. This necessitates working from home and reducing outside activities to next to zero. I do Genealogy research for people. I buy and sell Coins and other items on eBay starting 10 yrs ago. I have collected since 1954 and try to be fair and honest in all my dealings.
