Terrible radio reception. Tape plays too Fast
Since I am somewhat of an insomniac, I like to listen to talk radio shows at night and play audio books on tape.
The radio reception is terrible. Very "hissy". Even normally strong stations won't tune in.
Although the cassette player seems to work fine the speed is set too high on the motor so the voices are just a bit "younger" sounding than they should be. Guess I'll have to get used to it as I couldn't afford the return shipping and 20% restocking fee. So I'm stuck with this unit.
Save your money. Keep looking. If you find something better in the same price range, let me know.

If you are in a remote area, I'd say NO. If you are hard of hearing, NO
1 of 1 found this helpful I live in a remote area and was hoping to get a better TV signal than my older version of the same player but no matter what I try still can't get a signal of any kind out here. I was able to pick up several stations when I was "in town" but absolutely nothing out here.
The dvd player works fine but the volume level even at it's highest (which is 20) is pretty low. Am thinking I will need some external speakers to compensate for the lack of volume.
If you are in a remote area, I'd say NO. and if you are even slightly hard of hearing, I'd say NO.
Pluses? The remote works good and the dvd playback has good clarity.
