I am a very private and respectful person with a unique sense of civic duty. We are all here for only a little while so it would suit us best if we all chose to do no harm. I am a writer, composer and translator of ethereal information.

I lost a great deal over the last few years dues to poor living conditions and scabby storage space owners. It is a private joy to find these things again and reclaim them because if they are still missed then they do have a place in my life. I am looking for books, Norton Anthologies and almost everything I read in college, all of the old James Blish edited Star Trek books, an antique German Bible of excellant quality. I am also trying to replace a lot of the music I lost and this is a huge list (I was a performer and had quite an eclectic collection). Old toys I enjoyed as a child. Items from the 1930's through the 1960's engage my interest, especially functioning electronics.

I am not a collector. I am a focused buyer. I go in and get what I need and move on. After a while it might look like a collection and at that point I will be questioning my sanity as I put them up for sale. It has been my experience that collections do not get used and so they serve no purpose. If I can be said to collect anything it might be instruments (which I will play), books (which I will read), and music (which I will listen to).

What is a hobby? Is it something one does in their spare time that affords them some sense of sanity? Is it something done in a special space with special tools with special skills aquired through long interest or is it just something that turns you on? Well, taking the derivative of all the answers and multiplying by the fun factor and reducing to a level easily understood I would have to say writing, composing, playing my guitars, learning new things, finding my bliss and watching the stars way up in the sky.
