My highest priority
I want to spend as much time with family and try to have as many family events and invite all family and close friends for gatherings. I have a 5 year old grandaughter that visits us 3 days a week and I shut down on everything that isn't mandatory to spend quality time with her and her mon(our daughter. I was so busy during the get my life togther years and building a career and with music store, bands, and DJ, that looking back I didn't spend as much time as would have liked with my son , daughter and especially my wife. Today I've put the family and events related to family as a priority and business and anything related to money is a second.
Business InformationHistory/background
I opened my music store called luke's record exchange, after several years of experimenting at yard sales and flea markets(which is where I developed my skills and direction). Also my musical background goes back to early 60's. Starting with Beatles, my band days when I played keyboards and some vocals and continues today with my DJ business(since 1983), I have never stopped listening to music, still love my 60's and 70's.I listen to all of todays music.I continue to learn from experience, and I believe that and the fact that I go out of my way to make sure every customer is happy with their purchase if not I handle every sale , request and situation to the best of my abilty.I believe what goes around comes around.I've owned and operated Luke's since 1979 (28 years)the store has been very successful over the years. I especilly catered to the collector, bargain hunter and Disc Jockey.I'm offering building and business for sale and will continue and expand sales on Ebay with time.
Payment policy
In USA I prefere; PayPal,personal Checks(USA only), Postal money orders, credit cards(either calling my music store on Fridays or Saturdays between 12-5 PM eastern Standard time, or splitting up info and sending card and shipping instructions by mail.
ForpPayments for outside the USA, I recomend and prefer PayPal, and will also except USA Postal money Orders and credit card payments(formula as mentioned for USA).All payments are only excepted in USA payment, there are no exceptions.
Shipping information
I include in my descroiption that once payment has been received,& checks cleared, that purchases are mostly shipped within 10 days, in many cases musch earlier and if a customer needs a package quiker and we make commuincation properly , most of the time I can respond to buyers needs. I only ship ising the USPS, though. My shipping fee almost always includes handeling fees. I have almost never purchased anything online where shipping was free if it was the price of item was inflated to include shipping.I package to the best of my ability, almost always bubble wrap delicate items, especially vinyl records. I sometimes customize boxes to fit the item being shipped.I spend a lot of time and thought to make sure the buyer gets their purchases safely.Insurance is always option.Shipping outside USA needs more care and is always more to ship, and if insurance is requested, the form & cost of shipping always cost more.Emails recomended for any questions before a purchase.Combined shipping ???
Return policy
I don't offer any vinyl returns ever for any reasons, but I don't list low quailty or damged goods.Once in a while something may be so rare or hard to find that I may offer it for sale at a reduced price accoring to condtion for someone that maybe doesn't want to pay the price of a mint one.If an item is guarenteed it is almost always stated in decription.I don't want to waste my time or the buyers with problems and issues, they take up way to much time, are confusing and can result in negatives and a break down in communication. So I hand pick items I sell on Ebay to be as described, always using common sense and my best abilty to describe item(s). I always recomend that a buyer ask any questions before bidding or purchasing an item and not assume anything. better to always be on the same page(thinking alike).
Contact information
best way to reach me is always through Ebay which documents all comunication. If you want to try and reach me at mu music store(Luke's record Exchange) the adress is 393 Broadway, pawtucket,RI 02860 and best time to call and only days we are open curently is Friday & saturdays from 12-5, ask for Luke or leave my wife Chris info(she can only acceppt info, process cards but knows nothing about Ebay listings, always have info (questions & shipping) ready before calling. My won't provide email for security reasons but is available through EBAY.If mailing paymetn then make payment to Luke T Renchan and mail to 15 Redwood Drive, N Providence, RI 02911. If you think your question is urgent and needs a quick response then you may call 401-556-6068, if I don't pick up leave message and I will respond as soon as I'm able to.
Shipping & handling charges
I almost always quote shipping costs in description. All shipping cost is always paid for by the buyer. The price that I quote for shipping includes all costs associated to with shipping form postage to materials for packing and boxing, travel and packing time.It usually takes 10 minutes each way to posy office and the line can be from instant to 30 minute wait. All of this is related to getting purchases to customers in a timely fashion. I mostly make around 2 trips per week. So depending on quanity of items sold in any given week, my schedule and buyers request always dictates how frequently & when I ship.
Other Ebay important stuff!
If an item is returned for any reason the shipping expenses always belongs to the buyer unless we negotiate something different, which isn't often, almost rare.I may offer combined shipping upon request but an email is needed to make terms. And if you bid and win more than 1 item, and we've agreed on combined shipping then you will need to wait for invoice that will reflect combined shipping, then make your payment.PayPal is always the quikest and most reliable form of payment, there are fees associated with this form of payment that is an expense picked up by the seller. This method works especially best for out of country purchases. If a buyer has a history of issues it is possible I may refuse to sell any item and will then offer to next bidder or re-list .
