It's important to consider what, exactly, you are purchasing when making a bid on a vintage watch. Unless the watch has been recently serviced & given a clean bill of health by a watchmaker, it is highly likely that the timepiece will be in dire need of servicing. Finding a watchmaker willing & able to service a vintage watch is the first hurdle, the vast majority of watchmakers & service centers are interested in servicing modern watches. Factory Service Centers in Switzerland will take on any watch from their history of manufacture, but the prices are astoundingly high, often 3x more than from a qualified independent shop. When you buy a watch here, you know the watch has been recently serviced. Considerable experience & skill has been applied to each watch so that it operates properly.

When that gorgeous vintage watch needs servicing where do I find a watchmaker who can work on this, and more importantly, how in the world can a service cost as much as the entire watch did in the first place? That's why Luna Cie Watches services each watch during restoration - a complete movement take-down, part by part, is followed by inspection, cleaning, de-oxydation, replacement of mainspring, re-assembly, regulation, and case restoration where needed.
