Close To Home!
This documentary is worth your time, especially if you're like me and live close or work around the Amish on a daily basis. The first thing that caught my eye about this film is the fact that most of it was filmed just south of my city. We have a lot of the Amish culture living around the outside of my city, and especially south of me, in northern Indiana where this film was recorded. It was eye-opening to see the things that are happening to the Amish youth so close to home. This film explains about the Amish way of life, and the tradition the youth go through as they enter young-adulthood called "Rumspringa". This tradition lets them experience life as a the "English" (Americans like you and I) live. They are allowed to break out of their typical clothes and rules to wear what they like, drive cars, have electronics, stay out late, and experiment as they please. What's the catch? After Rumspringa is over, they must decide to give up the English way completely, succumbing to the Amish way 100% for the rest of their lives, OR they may convert to English, but in doing so they will be forever shunned by their families and community. The movie is focused on this time of their lives, and what it also shows is the undesireable aspects of Rumspringa, such as the Amish teens experimenting with sex, drugs, alcohol, and wild parties, getting addicted to drugs, and facing the stress of making the enormous choice that will effect the rest of their lives. Truly a very educational film that will also spark compassion with the Amish way of life and alleviate a bit of the mystery and common misconceptions that Americans have.

One of Their Best
Hi Infidelity is one of my favorite REO Speedwagon CD's ever. Truly an album with something for everyone! You'll get into the slower and more serious songs, like "Take It On the Run" but you'll also be able to feel lighter with the more catchy tunes like "In Your Letter". REO Speedwagon has a very diverse collection of songs in this album, which is part of what makes it so good. It is a classic band with enough flair to continue their popularity even into the 21st century. Hi Infidelity showcases some of their most well-known tracks, but all are good enough to appreciate. It is classic rock in all its glory, and you'll find yourself coming back to it again and again.

1st Class Manson (Cassette)
This is my favorite Marilyn Manson album yet (and I have the whole collection). In fact, this may be my favorite album PERIOD. This was Manson's first album after his cross-over from strictly death-metal shock-rock on the borderline-satanic sounding Antichrist Superstar album. With this album comes the softer, lighter side of the group. Morphing from stringy-hair bandmates plastered in perpetual black to a prettier glam look raised eyebrows. But the sound is still 100% amazing artistry, especially the guitar content. And the lyrical content? As far as I'm concerned, it's their best ever. These tracks will make you think. They will take you to the brink of suicide and back. Intelligently and honestly written, but not for the faint of heart! The most well-known tracks of this album are "Don't Like The Drugs (But The Drugs Like Me)", "Rock is Dead", and "Dope Show", but I also recommend "Great Big White World", "Disassociative", and "Fundamentally Loathsome" as my personal favorites. If you don't have this cassette in your Manson collection, I strongly suggest you find a good used bargain on eBay and give it a listen!
