I have worked at Izzy Rizzy's House of Tricks in Chicago since 1981. I have been the store manager since April 1982.

Our brick and mortar store began as a School of Ventriloquism and everything grew around that. This store sells mostly NEW ITEMS of the MAGIC, GAG GIFT, COSTUME, HALLOWEEN ACCESSORIES LIKE HATS, MAKE UP, ODDS AND ENDS TO COMPLETE YOUR COSTUME, Adult Gag Gift Items, Birthday Gags and more.

I am a Beatlemaniac. I used to have a Gift shop; CHICAGO CATHOUSE AND CRITTERS DEN, where I sold asst. gifts for Cat, Dog, animal lovers - (pigs, cows, etc). I still have some items I sell from time to time.

I was 21 when I walked into this trick shop on the South Side of Chicago. I had worked as a secretary for the past 4-5 years & altho secretarys make great money....it is not for me...sitting in an office,same people everyday, file this, type up that....I thought I would work thru the Halloween season, that was what I was hired for...25 years plus later...I am still here. Most people cannot believe I am almost 50, but the business keeps you young. I don't have children as I have my share of kids from age 5 to 75 every day in the business. I love what I do, I don't want to do anything else, but sell laughter & smiles as this is what we specialize in. We have the experience of almost 40 years in this business, and as a Mom & Pop store, that is pretty great in these times.

MOST ITEMS ARE A JOKE - ONCE USED LIKE A JOKE: ONCE YOU HEAR THE PUNCHLINE, JOKE IS NOT THAT FUNNY SECOND TIME AROUND. WE CANNOT WITH A GOOD CONSCIENCE SELL A COSTUME, WIG, NOSE ETC THAT SOMEONE ELSE WORE AND RETURNED SO WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY RETURNS. IF SOMETHING IS ARRIVED BROKEN WE WILL TRY TO REPLACE OR WE WILL GIVE REFUND.
