About Us Ed Datin started out in off road in 1979 during his high school years, working part time for Walker Evans Racing. Throughout the 1980's he worked at various machine shops including Cal Fab, where he learned the art of aluminum fabrication and welding building swing arms for Vance and Hines race team, as well as other race bikes. In the late 80's, he returned to work full time for Walker Evans. He worked and traveled for over 6 years learning to build desert and short course trucks, as well as stadium trucks and having the honor of riding passenger in some of the desert races. He left to assume the position of crew chief for the Darren York 7S race team. When Darren decided to not race the following year, Ed went to work for RWD.
