Hello and welcome to Mindgrist. I'm a former teacher of Latin and Greek. I have always been fascinated with how the mind processes information and learns new skills. Currently, I help teachers integrate technology in their curriculum.

My focus is selling products that help people improve their mind and consequently their lives in some way. As a former educator I am very concerned about helping children develop the intellectual skills necessary to process information skillfully. I believe that it is more important for a child to learn how to learn than it is to focus on wrote memorization of specific content. One of my former professors ingrained in me the importance of self-education. She would always remind me that the best education is self education -- you must learn how to learn, how to teach yourself -- with that skill you will become intellectually independent and only then can you call yourself educated. So, I try to find products that are not only intellectually engaging but also ones that are fun -- the importance of fun in learning can not be overlooked as the emotional center of our mind is closely linked to the logical center. In my spare time I enjoy exercising and cooking, but at this point in my life my interests are really my two children -- I spend quite a lot of time driving up and down the East coast going to lacrosse tournaments -- I love it though as I am a sports junky and I of course enjoy watching my kids compete.

As I mentioned in my Bio, I am a former teacher who has made the transition to the IT side of education. Mindgrist grew out of my desire to combine my two passions, technology and education. In the future I plan to provide customized computer software and training resources that will be presented in a mind-friendly way and will focus on helping people learn how to build knowledge from information with a view to developing consistently repeatable skills.

Paypal is my preferred payment method.

I try to find the cheapest shipping method available. For books and cds etc. I ship via Media mail. For international customers, if I can fit the item in a Global Priority mail envelop, that works out to be cheaper than M-Bag, but for larger or multiple item sales, I use M-Bag. Customers can always request an alternative shipping method.

Used books are sold as is and are nonreturnable. Other items such as new software can be returned if they are defective within 30 days.

I do my best to keep my inventory list up to date with that of my suppliers but it is always possible that an item that was available at the beginning of the day sells out by the closing of an auction. If a customer has the winning bid for an item that is out of stock, I will offer to immediately refund the payment -- the customer also has the option to wait for the item to be restocked and I will ship it as soon as possible.
