100 Degrees past Awesome-fullstop!
Probably the best fighting game ever! We are talking about the timeless classic game play of Mortal Kombat with today's graphics. Add an awesome storyline to the mix with the way-past cool bookend figures, art book and download "kodes" for extra "Kontent" and you're looking at a must-have for any fan and/or gamer. Makes an ideal gift. Highy recommended!

A tale of Super Saiyans that's cool, but falls just a little short of SUPER
The thing about DBZ that we all love is the epic drama. More than that we love the OVER-THE-TOP"" fighting styles and powers. Most of all, what we all LOVE about DBZ is the characters, and naturally their transformations. This game does well on the first two "LOVE-LIST" items'. The games graphics are awesome and the story mode delivers an interesting twist on the epic that is the DBZ saga. In these respects any die hard or newbie to the saga will be covered. The only downside to it is that the story mode is incredibly short and only covers the Saiyan Saga, The frieza Saga and the Cell/ Android Saga. Of course there are a few side-story arenas but they do little to compensate for the notably missing Majin Buu saga. PSN trophy hunters may feel a little cheated due to the lack of a trophy set. Due to these two shortcomings I felt that I was left with an otherwise awesome game that hadn't been developed to its full potential. I would think that for casual gamers this is a pretty decent title, but DIE-HARDS and hard-core gamers will feel a little cheated. The in game mechanics are pretty neat and it doesnt take forever to learn the controls. I bought this game because I'm a die hard fan. In so far as being true to the canon I felt the game lived up to my expectations. I liked the in game mechanics as well as the graphics and the manner in which the characters are rendered. The game is fast paced and engaging. I disliked the fact that a large number of the "Fan Favourite" characters had been left out of the game due to the short story mode. All in all, its a decent game that if assessed in isolation is a pretty kickass game. Sadly, for the few reasons cited above it falls a little short of the standard set by other games in the franchise. I would say buy it, play it, reminisce about the good old days when you took up karate in the hope you'd turn blonde and powerful and enjoy the game for what it is.
