Urantia Book
5 of 5 found this helpful I have been a reader of the Urantia Book since 1992. I have scoured ever lead towards a possible fraud, but have found nothing, including the reading by one of the world's foremost skeptics Gardner who wrote a very misleading and poorly written debunking book on Urantia which in itself is easily debunked. I often wonder why he wrote it, it was so poorly done with no evidence of fraud, using his own theories and conjecture with no evidence. Not what a skeptic would do. I am also a skeptic. I involve myself in the interest of critical thinking, debunking. I am not easily won over and continue to look for a motive to writing this book. Furthermore its writing is possibly beyond any group of humans to produce. The deeper it is studied, the more things come to light, and the more I am amazed. I'm particularly impressed by the reader's and the book's prohibition against it becomming cultified. I was an agnostic, and this book changed all that. If you are not happy with your current religion, or you are an open minded person, give this a read, but I'd recommend you read it with some online help, in of itself it will blow your mind IF you fully understand that all of what you find unbelievable will be explained in the book itself. After you understand the basic concepts the world as we know it will open up to you, and you will understand why it hasn't gripped all nations, (it will). Where you are going , and the purpose of life. There are no churches, no money, the original publishers relied on fundraising to publish the book, although they had substantial offers, no dogma, no motive. Research the history, it is fascinating. Be skeptical, this book has sites that encourage skepticism. Ever see that in a religion? It is not a religion, it is a revelation and a good adjunct to your belief system.
