Better safe than sorry
Never knowing what an extension cord may be used for the 12AWG wire makes any use of a 25ft cord safe. A few extra dollars may save lives and equipment.

By far the best
These TCS WOW decoders, steam or diesel are in my opinion the best prototypical decoders; sound and operation I have found. The Keep Alive option is so essential operating DCC locomotives as the problem of decoders turning off and having to be restarted is eliminated. I have installed several of both and am beyond satisfied.
