changes as I grow older...now even read non fiction for more than how to....my #1 book is the Bible and then whatever you throw at me I'll read and sometimes even enjoy...Patterson for his 'bullet' writing, Koontz for 'oddness', a lot of 'bodice rippers' for enjoyment...Fluff is good, mysteries, suspense but..I don't like true crime stories including the news. How anyone can sleep after news is beyond my comprehension. The world of make believe is a safer world

My husband Paul and I (Paula)[not the famous ones who by the way can claim only their middle names as such]sing every month at the local Rehabilitation center which also houses the local 'nursing home'/we have sung on the Nancy Harmon Show in Portland, OR and sing in our local church choir which puts on productions for the holidays

Have lived in 6 states and visited all but three of the 50 states/have visited the lower portion of Canada from the West to East Coast/Been married 43 years with three sons, 2 grandaughters, 4 grandsons (2 adopted) and a great grandson and great grand-daughter (from adopted grandsons)...not been easy but has been fun. have owned off and on through the years small businesses including Typing Agency, Tutoring and Daycare, presently an on line business. Have been involved in animal rescue all my life including fostering until homes found. presently have 4 dogs - three hardcore rescue and one we fell in love with and bought.

My son illustrated and I wrote MANDY THE ALPHA DOG, release date June 20, 2009. Autographed copies can be obtained through my ProStores Website, www.paulandpaulasplazainc.com...this book covers fears, overeating, obesity, mistreatment, puppy mills, pet stores, biting, forgiveness, redemption, and winning. It is the first in a series loosely based on the antics of our 4 rescue dogs, their friends and family. The stories are aimed at the 7-10 year old told in a humerous manner. MANDY THE ALPHA DOG tells of Mandy's bad beginning and her overcoming her weaknesses. This is also an introduction of the other characters who will be gracing future books. 10% of author/illustrator's proceeds will be given to Animal Rescue Leagues.
