We live & work in a building predominantly occupied by artists & various designers in Chicago.

We generally sell vintage clothing from the turn of the century to the eighties however, occasionally find some fantastic pair of boots or shoes from last year that are too perfect to pass up. We carry about fifty ft. of clothing which hangs on racks in a beautiful space which adjoins our gallery of sculptural as well as two dimensional work. I also repurpose clothing, old lace & textiles that have been discarded and otherwise deemed no longer useful. I spend quite a bit of time with these pieces and have had many of them in shows such as The University of Chicago Moda Fashion Shows, @ The Open Studios here @ The Albany Carroll Arts Building, The Renegade Craft Fair which produces shows here in Chicago & New York City.

We buy much of our inventory through Flea Markets in New York City to L.A. & San Fransisco as well as, Private Sellers, Auctions, Estate Sales, Thrift Stores and through individuals who consign pieces we feel work well with our inventory.

I collect pieces of lace that are odd shapes, preferably not symmetrical although some symmetrical pieces work for me in my work. I collect chrinoids (Fossils) in Michigan & where ever I travel. I collect discarded paper for collage and printmaking. I collect correspondence letters from the seventeen and eighteen hundreds. I collect plates, bowls, platters and like to serve dinners where everyone can have their own plate different from the others @ the table as well as glassware and silverware. I collect textiles and things I can imagine using in either a piece of clothing or soft sculpture. I collect art whenever possible! I've collected afghans for the beautiful colors and work that's involved in them... labors of love they are! I have more than I need, perhaps I will sell them through ebay.

I met an incredible healer @ 17 who became my mentor. She altered the trajectory of my life! I ultimately studied twelve styles of Massage Therapy & Healing work, got written up in Harpers Bazaar, The Chicago Tribune (twice,) was featured on FOX News & Public Radio. Moved to New York where it seems I massage the whole world, lots of very talented & well known people some of whom I had the pleasure of traveling with to some pretty amazing places. Throughout my time in N.Y.C. I amassed an incredible collection of vintage & was very influenced by people who were hired to consult major designers & ultimately moved back to Chicago three months following Sept. 11 2001 & volunteering for a month. I had the realization where I really got the value of ones first circle (Family & Friends) and the rich soil that people & our connections provide for one another.

I prefer PayPal however will gladly take Money orders. I like to be payed immediately, it speeds up delivery to the auction winner too! Checks should be made out to Evelyn Daitchman.

I charge fairly and am not looking to make money on this part of my business. I ship up to three times a week.

I am interested in keeping buyers happy with their cool new things! I try my best to give the most accurate of descriptions in my listings. I represent my inventory the same way I would want others to do were I on the other end of the transaction. Please read my descriptions & measurements, it takes us sellers time & effort to do these things accurately not to mention the shipping & handling. If by chance an item is far from what I have described I will take the piece back.
