What We Do
Classes are held at Auburn's Dewitt Center and are offered in Adaptive Skills Through Art and in Independent Living Skills. Special activities, such as the autumn craft sale, take place during the year as well. Collaborative services for the program are provided by the California State Department of Rehabilitation, the California State Library, Visually Impaired Volunteers in Action, and the Sacramento Society for the Blind
Business InformationHistory/background
The goal of the Visual Service Center is to improve the individual's quality of life. With the adaptive skills acquired or enhanced through participation in the Center's program, a blind or visually impaired person can be self-reliant, have a wider range of daily choices, and experience a fuller life overall.
If you are interested in registering for our classes, you may simply drop by our Dewitt Center facility during normal class times. We are located in northern Auburn and can be reached easily by public transit, CTSA, or automobile.

Our Funding Has Been Cut
Unfortunately, the school district has discontinued our funding 100% as of August 3rd, 2009. We need to sell our crafts items to become self-supporting and pay our own rent, utilities, teachers' salaries and supply costs. Please buy an item. You will have a wonderful gift and help support a worthy cause.
