(I'm talking serious eyebrow raising ... well .... you tried to pretend it never happened, but it did, and I've got the proof. But relax....your secret is safe with me. For the time being, anyway. Assuming, of course, that the economy keeps singing along on its steady-upwards trajectory. If it doesn't, you may want to consider changing your identity.)

I only buy things that are quirky, fun, and impractical. However, I also buy things that are predictable, serious, and practical.

I've got a special place reserved in my heart and my library for any book written by anyone with a beard. (I approach books by mustachioed authors on a case by case basis. I'm not being prejudicial. I was burned once, very VERY badly.
I've now trained myself to read with one eye open.
Favorite Movies
All movies are intriguing in their own idiosyncratic ways. Well ... not ALL movies. There surely must have been a couple of duds made somewhere at sometime. However, I've not seen them. All the films I've seen get two thumbs way up.
Favorite Music/Bands
I'm somewhat of an aficionado of tunes you can tap your toes to. (I'll confess. I've been known to get after it when the music is working its magic on me. It's as if there's some kind of mystical, horn-blowing, gay, shamanistic wizard (a la the Ray Walston character in My Favorite Martian) gently dry-humping my brain from a place deep within my ear canals.
One moment, I'll be sitting on someone's sofa, perfectly still. Then the music starts playing.... BOOM! It just happens! I lose control of my body and my toes start tapping (in perfect time) to that crazy, percussive beat.
If you've never listened to music, I've got two words for you: try it.
Your ears will probably thank you. Your toes, too. And, most importantly, you may finally discover who the real you really is. And, even if you don't, you'll at least be able to hear what all the fuss is about. Trust me. Music's not just a fad. It's here to stay. (For the next few years, anyway.)
