I have been painting literally since I was a child. I'll paint anything as long as it'll be still! I began painting pictures & was asked to do a mural in the front hall of my school in 5th grade. I began re-doing furniture before it became ~Martha Stewart Chic~ or fashionable - out of necessity really. In the 70's I couldn't afford the bedroom furniture I wanted for my daughter, Beth. So I shopped at 2nd hand stores, found the pieces I wanted & painted them like the ones I saw in a magazine. I have always loved antiques, and I couldn't afford an old brass bed that I saw at a Flea Mkt, so I ~faux~ painted an old iron bed. I began faux painting for my friends & family, the word spread and now I do it for others as well. I do all types of techniques, but I truly love old, time worn finishes. My favorite wall finish is an old world plaster look done with lots of glaze to make it look like years and layers of old paint. I like to think I can make anything pretty & useful again!
