Business InformationHistory/background
I've had an eBay account since 1999, selling and buying occasionally. I am trying to sell more - need to clear out my closets and garage... but I seem to have bought a lot lately... I have done several trade shows over the years: book shows, doll shows, collectible shows, craft shows, and good ol' yard sales and swap meets. I have also had a couple of booths in antique malls over the years. And then I have my M-F day job.
Payment policy
I prefer PayPal because it is easy, quick, secure, and PayPal helps recover $ to both buyer and seller if a problem occurs. I also accept money orders, cashiers checks and personal checks. The personal checks will have to clear the bank before I will ship the auction item.
Shipping information
Shipping can be such a touchy subject. Anyway you look at it, it costs. I wish I could say that I recoup the cost of the item I am selling when I sell it. It doesn't always happen... mostly not. Ebay and PayPal both charge fees for each item (fairly enough), and I do take into consideration the cost of envelopes, packing material, printer ink for labels and packing slips, packing tape, etc. I generally add a small percentage of all this to my shipping/handling cost. For example: if the actual USPS shipping is $7.50 for priority, I will probably ask for $8.50 shipping. Also, I don't require shipping insurance, but I do strongly suggest buyers get it. I have in the past refunded the full amount of an item and the shipping costs of items that the buyers said they never received. I can't afford to continue to do this. The insurance, if an item is lost or damaged, will pay for the item. The actual postage is not covered in the insurance amount.
Return policy
Most everything I sell is AS IS, and I do not accept returns. If you receive an item that is damaged, and you bought insurance, you can get your money replaced by the USPS. If not, I'm sorry. If you receive the item and it is not at all what you saw in the photograph on eBay, email me and let's discuss what your issues are. We can work it out.
