How We Learned Our Art
I learned how to Raku fire hand built pieces while attending school in Hawaii. When I met my Hubby in 1993 he took one throwing class and then he went on the self taught path. Norman has been throwing for 14 years now. I could no longer fire pottery and looked where I should go next? I have been in love with beads and making jewelry my whole life. I made raku clay beads for years, but, my desire for color and feel turned me to glass. I researched, bought a book or two and went on the self taught path myself. Where we live (by Zion National Park, Ut.), classes of any kind are slim to none. I want to thank Cindy Jenkins for her book Making Glass Beads, she has been my teacher. To our eBay customers, Thank you for being there for both of us while we grow in our art forms. We love to stay at our studio, home and work. Thank You for allowing us to do so. Janet & Norman
Business InformationHistory/background
My Husband use to be an accountant and I was a waitress in Hawaii where I raised my son. When I met my husband we were really tired of bosses younger then us and set out to start our business. I started doing raku in 1990, Norman started in 1994 and eBay let us stay home from the 12 art shows a year we use to do.
