One of the best
Likes: LCD Screen - virtually no lag, sharp and detailed pictures. Love the calender playback mode which allows you to see which photos you took on certain days. Lightning fast turn on and shot-to-shot times. Battery life is exceptional (this was one of the main reasons I bought this camera, I figure what good is a camera if it lies dead in your backpack - this battery is good for a day of shooting +). Solid metal and plastic body which could probably take some abuse. The camera definetly has a wow factor with the combination small body/large lcd/lightning fast boot times. Dislikes: Optical viewfinder is useless, low-light performance is subpar due to small flash and noise at higher iso(s). Photos are a tad bit oversaturated but this can be adjusted in the camera settings. Cradle seems a little flimsy compared to the camera but does the job. Summary: Overall this is one of the best subcompacts I have owned. I prefer this one over the Sony Cybershots because I think it has better handling for its size, yet it's small enough to stash away in a shirt pocket. It makes a great companion for those quick shots that you just can't miss, and the movie modes are some of the best i've seen - including a mode that starts recording 5 seconds before you even press the shutter so you are sure to capture the shots you are looking for. I personally wouldn't use the camera for large prints above the 11x14 range, but I feel that is more than adequate for smaller print sizes. Of course noise will only be a major issue if you are trying to produce large prints from this camera, which I would personally leave to a dSLR in low-light settings. While probably not suitable for "pro" applications, Any average user will be more than pleased with this camera, as its use is intended for.

Great Compact SLR Package
Likes: Speed, Feel and controls, Solid design, Lens selection, Battery-Life (with Lithium Ions) Dislikes: Unimpressive results in "Auto" mode, PEF format instead of RAW The first thing I noticed when comparing this SLR to others was it's solid feel and build quality. It certainly feels much more expensive than it looks--put together much better than Canon's toy-like camera, the Rebel XT. The battery life on this camera was exceptional. I used the camera on and off for 3 months photographing trips, family events, and a wedding. If you go easy on the flash, you'll go quite a while without changing batteries, especially if you use Lithiums like the ones provided with the camera. The controls are very intuitive and well laid out, and I especially like the top mounted LCD. I also like the review lcd, which is decent size and I found that all settings and controls were self explanatory and there were no unnecessary menus or shift through--certainly could be a smooth transition camera for non-digital SLR users. One thing that I was not particularly impressed with on this camera was it's "auto" mode. While the majority of the time I utilize manual settings, it is nice to jump to auto when a shot needs to be taken quickly. I continually face the problem of the auto mode under-exposing my images. With a few menu tweaks, this problem is eradicated. This is something that should be considered for those who expect great results from "out of the box" use. Besides a few qualms this camera has really been a pleasure to use. It's really hard not to like this camera's durability, lens choices (you can utilize any Pentax SLR Lens since the 50's I believe) and the speed is adequate for most continuous shooting applications. 4/5 stars!
