Great item, poor customer service
I was a 8 handicap and this device helped me get down to a steady 4. I know how far I hit my clubs, so having accurate distances really helps. I find the SG5 easy to use, I can easily play 36 holes and it still has lots of battery life. I especially like the target display for new courses as it helps me to avoid trouble an select the correct club. I have used the SG5 in Ontario Canada, Michigan and Florida. I have not found a course that I could not download. I'm not crazy about the new skycaddie link, I liked the old method better as I found it easier to search and load new courses. I recently paid for a software upgrade that increases the course capacity from 10 to 20, added a scorecard, as well as some other improvements. Nice upgrade. Now for the bad stuff. SkyCaddie has without a doubt the worst customer service on earth. Don't get me wrong, I love my SkyCaddie just not the service. Here's why. My home course has went through some hole changes over the last two years. SkyCaddie was there last August, yet the changes are not yet loaded into the system. Thus I play my home course 100+ rounds with a skycaddie that only contains 80% of the holes. When I write to skycaddie they just dance around the issue saying they sent the info to another department. The next reason is after I PAID and downloaded the software upgrade, one of the new features is AUTO distance display. This is supposed to be some improvement to the mark your ball, walk then mark again to see how far you hit your shot. I cannot figure out how to acitivate this AUTO feature, and when I write to skycaddie, they just don't bother to answer, EXTREMELY frustrating, they just don't answer!!!! What's with that? So, I love my skycaddie and will not play without it, but I don't like the customer service or lack of. New's flash, I tried three times this year to get info on when they would update my home course. Guess what, they emailed to tell me they sent it to another department. Oh my word, will it ever end? News flash - August 2009, course finally updated, all is well in SkyCaddie land. Update 2010 - For some reason our course info is out of date again. Two par 3's showing up as a par 4, and a par 5? Emailed skycaddie in April, it's now June, still out of date? some things never change, extremely poor service with regard to course updates. Also switched to the new SGX, it did take THREE machines before I got one that worked, but it seems to be very fast and accurate. Buy from a dealer close by just in case you require a replacement. Skycaddie is very fast at shipping these, I got mine overnight. Update 2011 - SGX bugs seem to be all fixed. Machine works very well no issues for some time. Course still out of date, TERRIBLE customer service in this area. Not impressed with yearly fees as more companies seem to be coming out with machines that do everything for FREE. Once you buy it's FREE, hear that SkyCaddie!

Titleist AP2 irons Project X shaft
I am a 4 handicap golfer who has played Ping for the past 15 years. Last year switched to Titleist AP2's. Without a doubt the most stable club head I have ever swung. Line it up hit it, ball goes exactly where the club head comes through. Terrific out of the rough, very easy. With my Ping i10's I shot my first 68. I had always heard if you want to get more consistant yardages go to a forged club. So, I decided to try the AP2. So far my best round is 70, but I shoot a lot more low scores with these irons due to the increased accuracy. I had a tendancy to pull my Ping's even after having them bent. Maybe they were just too light (common issue with Ping), or the increased offset was the cause. My only concern with my AP2's is that with the Project X shaft I get the odd flyer. I mean 20 yards (6 iron = 180) more than normal 160. I have talked with 3-4 low handicap golfers who have the same issue with this iron. One even switched back to his old irons. I have wrote Titleist regarding this issue, NO response, No guidance, a bit frustrating. It could just be that this flyer issue is a fact of life with blades. Anyway I plan on keeping them in the bag, too many plus's not enough negatives to take them out. They also get a lot of looks because they are just a beautiful iron. I also think anyone who makes good ball contact, even a 10+ handicap can hit these with no problem.

Best I have ever hit period.
I am 58 years old, 5 handicap and have played TaylorMade drivers for years. A few years ago I switched to a Ping G10 and it quickly became the most consistant driver I have hit. As us golfers do, last year I switched again and tried a Titleist 909D2 10.5 loft, stiff flex and it became my favorite. I lost some distance but gained in accuracy. I started to study specs a bit more and I think the 1/2 deg open with the Titleist suited my slight over the top swing so that is why it helped. I have been taking more lessons in an attempt to come more from the inside hoping to gain some distance. My driving average is in the 260 yard range. Anyway this spring I purchased a Ping i15 and all I can say is wow. This driver is a beast. Consistant carry of 270 range. Without a doubt the most solid driver I have ever hit. I can work this baby both ways and I have not done that for some time. It is one degree open but the fade bias does not affect me at all. I would say most decent ball strikers can hit this driver no problem. My friends have the new Titleist 910D2, TaylorMade R11 and they are 10 years younger, but I still out drive them with this baby by as much as 40 yards. They are threating me with pee testing, lol. My only small issue would be is that the standard TFC700 shaft is a bit stiffer than others, resulting in a slightly lower but penetrating ball flight. Do not get me wrong but I feel that if my launch angle was just a bit higher I would be 10 yards or more longer. I am buying a 11 deg just to test and see if this is true. Go hit this driver it is one of the best Ping has produced. The ball just explodes off the face, love that.
