I love to ride long distances over mountain summits. This is strange because I started racing track not road and I have a muscular build not a classic road riding body. I want to go longer not faster. My goal is to ride 500 miles in one shot.

I started racing Triathlons in 1979 and quickly realized that the cycling and swimming portions suited my body style more. In 1982 I started racing Track and moved to California so I could race 3 days a week at the Carson Olympic Velodrome, Encino Velodrome and the San Diego Velodrome. I specialized in Match Sprints and Keirin events but raced in all disciplines of Track. I joined the Marine Corps in 1987 and served 5 years. I attained my Bachelors and Masters Degree while I was enlisted. I have a wife Danielle, two girls Katie and Carissa, two boys Richie and Trevor. I spend most of my time working and with my family and try to ride as much as possible. My kids are getting older so I am getting more time to ride and get back to archiving my personal cycling goals. Along the way I hope to help others do the same.
