A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away.. Well, not so long ago, in a previous life, I opened what would be the first Snowboard Shop in Southern California. It became known as Green Sector, So Cal's Leading Edge. In a store not much bigger than my bedroom, snowboarders, came from San Diego to Santa Barbara to check out the latest and greatest snowboards from the '84/'85 season.. I told you it was along time ago. We all knew each other. Snowboarding was allowed at Mountain High in So Cal, and Donner Ski Ranch up in Tahoe. Period! There really wasn't anything else. Snowboarding was definitely not looked upon favorably by the huge ski corporations that be.. That left us free to go big at the few enlightened small resorts that actually allowed snowboarding! Happy riding our Sims, and Barfoots. Burton was pretty much a -Back East- thing (no offense) Armed with Sorel boots, ski liners, and whatever waterproof clothing that didn't look to stupid. We all thought it would last forever...
