27" Silver iMac Broken Hinge Solution 2012 2013 2014 2015

Must have - if you must have it.
The hinge design for the thin Apple iMac computers leaves a lot to be desired. Someone at Apple thought plastic washers under bolt heads that hold the hinge spring was a good idea. Well, it wasn't. When the plastic washers have had enough, they fail, and the spring no longer holds the display upright. What you have then, is a display that tilts forward. Options? Put a few books under the bottom of the display... but that may restrict airflow being sucked in from the bottom causing the internals to overheat. Or, take it apart, risk cracking the screen, and struggling with a kit sold on eBay (almost guaranteed to tear up your fingers) to replace the broken plastic washers with a steel plate. Or... this thing. The idea is absurdly simplistic. It's a brace that you slide on the stand, turn a locknut, and you're done. Out of sight, out of mind. Just remember to loosen the locknut if you need to adjust the angle of your screen, and then tighten (but not too tight) again.

Adobe Creative Suite CS6 Design & Web Premium - Mac - Full Retail License

Last of the physical Creative Suite
The last of the physical media when it comes to Adobe Creative Suite. Partly the fault of Apple, partly Adobe, Photoshop and Illustrator have gotten fickle about which Mac OS they'll work with. Some reviews say "will not work with 10.X.X" when in reality, it works fine - once you figure out how to install it (the automatic installer no longer works in High Sierra or Mojave). Other reviews say it'll work fine, but in reality, you can't save a file without Illustrator crashing. Did the file save? Yes. But the program shut itself down. That can be annoying, especially if you're working on a paid project. No such problems on the Windows10 side of things, from what I've researched, so exploring other options for an Adobe replacement in the coming years. Affinity seems to be running a little lean at the moment, and is not a logical replacement - yet. But in time, it may be the new go-to for the Mac community. As for buying the physical Adobe Creative Suite... it was expensive before they came up with their Cloud-based product. It's even more expensive now, sold by third parties, especially with the level of risk involved with regard to if it'll even run on your machine/OS. Buy from a reputable seller.
