Cute but can burn you!
This is a really cute design but it is flawed. I liked it and got it as a Christmas present. It is adorable, ranks excellent in the looks department but there is a big flaw. The lip is quite short and it pours poorly. If you have it full, it is difficult to get the tea into the cup without pouring it all over yourself or the counter. It does make a fantastic cup of tea and I do use it, I just pour it over the sink. If you have a person who loves tea, I would consider it, but warn them about pouring.

Lightweight, cheap but a mess!
I am a building manager and recently our old vac died. I was sent to find a cheap replacement. This Dirt Devil was under $50 retail. It is very light weight and does have good suction for a small vacuum. The cord is exceptionally long and the beater brush is strong. It also has a tiny floor board beater brush that is a nice feature. It is light weight enough that I can haul it up and down 3 flights of stairs without having a stroke. It seems to be equally good on low pile carpet and bare floors. It comes with two attachments, a wand and a brush. The hose detaches easily and the suction is great through it. So this is all the good stuff. Emptying the bagless dirt container is a terrible mess. I would NOT do it in your house or apartment. I take it outside to my dumpster. It is very very dusty when you empty it. There are two interior filters in the dirt container. You had better clean both out after use or it will clog up quickly and you will loose suction. Cleaning these is a mess too. I usually tap out the top filter and then pop out the lower filter and remove anything stuck to it. It is not a bad vacuum for the price. It seems quite sturdy and with regular cleaning of the filters has great suction. It is just a terrible mess to clean and empty. If you have bad allergies or asthma, you might want to look for one with an actual bag. I think I will when this one dies.

Good book but could be better
Nick Snider is a very enthusiastic seller and buyer of sweethearts. From what I know, his collection is not big, it is mammoth. In the sweetheart world this is the "black book" of sweethearts. The book is well organized but at times lacks information. The color plates are good but occasionally so many pins are crammed onto one that they lack detail. He has fantastic examples of sweetheart jewelry that would make most collectors drool. Some are so rare that I have only ever seen them in his book. The biggest problem I have with this book is the "International" section. I am a British Sweetheart collector and my best friend collects War Relief. This section is a mish-mash ofreal international pieces, Bundles for Britain (US organization), British American Ambulance (US organization), Greek War Relief (US organization), WWI patriotics, WWII British wound badge (not a sweetheart). It shows a lack of research. Many of the badges mentioned, like Bundles for Britain and British American Ambulance are "crossover pieces". They were made in the USA but fashioned to look like RAF wings. They are in many RAF collections and highly desirable in the UK (yes I know this first hand, we went to a huge militaria fair in the UK and they could not buy enough of the Bundles for Britain stuff). The pins were made in the USA by companies like Monet and Trifari. Lovely pieces, but not real international sweethearts. If you are a collector of sweethearts I would say this book is a good reference. It is a necessity for any collector of domestic or international sweethearts. Don't believe all the prices in the back, some are way too high and some way too low. Come to ebay and follow the auctions if you want to know what your piece will really sell for. This book is worth the price (look for a good auction price on ebay). The other book of his, the red one, is what I would classify as below average. The color plates are just crammed with pins, hard to see, some are upside down and some plates are reversed. I think it was his first try and it was a bit hurried. The Black Book is much better, despite it's faults.
