eBay My World: ruthiewrites( 247)

I'm a writer who likes to ebay when I'm taking a break from what I'm writing--as I am doing right now at 3:15 on this Thanksgiving weekend. Writing for myself since all of us at the Writers Guild are on strike and start marching again tomorrow. Ugh

I buy antique watches, probably six Fendi watches over this past year. Also bone china --favorite patterns are Johnson Bros Castle on the Lake in blue; Royal Dalton's Tea Roses and although it is the number one selling china pattern ever--Old Country Roses, some Churchill, some Gold patterns from occupied Japan (hard to find); lots of mother of pearl and sterling silver flatware.

usually whatever I'm reading. right now that's Obama's Audacity of Hope and Clinton's Giving, but any fiction from Nelson Demille or Tony Hillerman; almost any entertainment bios or autobiographies--the most horrible being James Brown's and the best Etta James (written with one of my favorite writers David Ritz) also his bio on the Neville Bros.

all the Godfathers, including the godawful third one... i know all the dialogue because when the world gets crazy i get popcorn and go for the marathon

while I write, sleep or drive, I listen to classical and deeply mourn the loss of Luciano P, but almost anything Ray Charles ever sang or played (except for the last album, which was not his best only his last) I love Willie Nelson, Gladys Knight and the real Temptations --so that's anything recorded more than 30 years ago. Norah Jones is a joy and selectively Alicia Keys and always, always the Eagles
