This is an amazing processor! Passmark rates it at 10995 on the base clock. It can be reliably OC'd to 4.5GHz with a cheap ($14) cooler.
2 of 5 found this helpful Like my title states, this processors is a killer! I just went from an old intel q6600 (quad 2.4ghz) to this beast. My original one had a pass mark rating of about 3,000. This CPU has a BASE rating of 10995 and when overclocked you can easily get 12-13k at 4.5GHz on a CHEAP air cooler. I will be upgrading the cooler eventually so I can push this bad boy to about 4.7 or even 4.8 Ghz to achieve even better ratings. Atm I have it set to the stock frequency and it is awesome. Oh and I want to point out the integrated graphics are pretty decent, I have a few games that run 30+FPS no problem on just this. I have a $40 graphics card that scores 1/5th the rating of this cpu's integrated graphics. Will this replace a REAL graphics card, absolutely not, however for mild gaming it may be adequate and that's perfect for me. I'm going to be building a friends gaming rig based around this CPU and a GTX 970 graphics card. This CPU will not disappoint.

Much nicer than the dual core CPU's we have around here.
Keep in mind this is an antiquated socket to be using so don't expect to suddenly have instant everything. We use several programs 24/7 and we noticed our CPU usage was always at 100%. We figured for under $30 we might as well try this quad core out and sure enough it has made the test pc faster. I'll likely be ordering some more to replace the rest of the CPU's in the office since it's cheap. If you have the money you should try upgrading the entire computer versus dragging out the life of 8 year old tech as it's significantly slower then the newer chips running on LGA 1150 or even better the LGA 1151 socket. If you're going for cheap and effective at moderate tasks then this is good enough for most people. If you're trying to game or want to really multitask without lagging, then you may want to look at upgrading to a newer chip/socket.
