Pictured above is my pet Chow Chow Lexi (Alexis) when she was just a three month old pup. Lexi is now 12 years old, a senior like me. She's 61 in human years. When you ring the bell she'll bark to announce your arrival. Other than that she never barks. She loves to stay outdoors in the yard from morning untill night. She's like a Siberian Husky, the colder the better. I can only get her in by cooking hamburger or turkey burgers. She is a real sweetheart who is super friendly and goes up to everyone she meets to sniff them and get petted. Chows have a bad reputation for being aggressive and occasionally nipping people. Not this one. She is very different. Her only vice is that by nature she is a hunter. I have found my share of dead squirrels in the yard. The Vet says its instinct and nothing can be done about it. Fortunately now that she's older and slower she prefers to look at squirrels rather than chase them.
