New 1.6 HP Electric Post Hole Digger 1200w Watt Motor w/ 4" Inch Auger Drill Bit
Oct 28, 2016
Great for me!
I haven't used any other electric diggers, but this looks identical to the name brand which costs 100 more. Plowed through my fill with no problem. Seems to deal with small / medium rocks fine. Roots can stop it. It doesn't leave a perfect clean hole of course, but I have been running this down to the depth I want then using a manual posthole digger to clean it up. Which is easy because at that point there is just loose dirt. I've found moving it in and out of the hole while running seems to get the most dirt out. I was a little concerned getting this without a lot of reviews, but glad I did and it seems like a steal at 129.99. I did get a 6" bit to go with it. I would imagine 8" would work if the dirt wasn't too hard packed and dry.

Good value if you have battery and charger
Works great, and is a good value if you have the battery and charger already (vs having to also buy those.) It is not as good as a corded electric or gas blower, but it is 1000x times more convenient, and gets most of the way there. So far I have not had to break out the corded blower and have just used this. Blowing off a 600sf deck, patio, long driveway, works great. Best if you have two batteries and can charge one while using the blower so you can just swap batteries as you go for longer jobs.
