All About MeWhat everyone should know about me
I'm 100% disabled and living near my doctors and daughters in Minnesota.
I like all sports and most gadgets. The device du jour for me is the Amazon Kindle. I don't have the use of my hands, and it makes reading possible again.

Too many Kindles are bought and never make it out of the box. Only 40% of American adults report reading a single book last year. Hmm. . .we want your experience to be different. We have tried to build a package of products, information, and guarantees that should just about assure that you will have an effective experience with your Kindle for many years. We have provided a QuikStart Guide to have you going with all 4 major Kindle functions in less than an hour. Think of the EK1 as the platform on which the user can do anything (s)he wants with media.
The Kindle we will ship to you is in excellent condition.

Enhanced Kindle 1 Reading Function
The Kindle is first and foremost an electronic reading device. Its job is to deliver a wonderful reading experience to you. As such, it reads electronic books, ebooks, displays the contents, and makes your management of the contents easy and effective. So who in the world needs such a thing? People who have trouble with hands and sight (the Kindle will show the print in very small to very large type). People who want a library in a device the size of a paperback. People who want LOTS of material for little money. People who want their newspapers, magazines, and blogs delivered and accessible electronically. In the end. . .people who and want a need a different reading experience.
But why stop there?
Enhanced Kindle Listening/Internet Functions
The Kindle’s creators added both a small speaker and an analog sound output to the device. Strange, huh? Not really. Thay envision the reader using sound in the background to make reading even more fun. So you can listen to your MP3 tunes as you read. Cool. Then a company called Audible.Com introduced reasonably priced audiobooks for the Kindle. Then the Amazon Kindle folks added “text to speech” functionality to the Kindle 2 (costs quite a bit more and has some known, quite serious problems—the screen tends to crack). Because we at EK1 think Kindlers are readers, not necessarily listeners, we have stuck with the more proven Kindle 1 for our platform, and have not put an AudioBook on the EK1. But you still get the background tunes capability, and Audible.Com if you want. The Kindle’s creators wanted to make it unbelievably fast and easy for customers to order electronic books off the internet. In order to accomplish this, they created a powerful internet connection.
