After the Athens GA music scene exploded in the 70's with the B-52's, REM, & Pylon, I left Athens and Chapter III Records behind to get closer to the NYC source of great music and shows that never came to Atlanta. I worked for and with various bands, record labels, & record distributors - which became CD distributors, I have toured with bands, slept in vans and on floors, bailed people out of jail, got them on planes, got them to the show on time, put out their records... & just about anything else related to the underground music scene. I have attended literally many thousands of concerts and met so many kindred sould at shows, record fairs, and in records shops. The demise of so many indie record stores is a tragic loss to the underground music scene and local networking with people of similar interests. Now we must rely on live music alone for this sense of community while embracing the worldwide communion we now enjoy with people we could not have found without the internet.
Business InformationHistory/background
From 1989 - 2000 I had a record shop in Bridgeport CT called Secret Sounds. Perhaps best known by Dave Grohl's wearing of my t-shirt on the cover of the Muddy Wishkah live album from Nirvana. We specialized in alternative or non mainstream music and imported many thousands of LPs and CDs from Europe and Japan. I decided to close the shop at the turn of the century as digital music combined with internet downloading is obviously reducing the demand for the physical object. I placed all of the remaining inventory in a climate controlled storage space... a virtual time capsule of a 1990's indie shop a la Hi Fidelity. Now I am moving forward on selling off this inventory which has been resting comfortably these last 8 years. I have thousands of records, 12inch, 7inch 10inch, Cd’s, videos, toys, stickers, and posters. Many are on small labels which had limited release. All my inventory dates from the last century! Please feel free to contact me for more info.

Shipping information
I am extremely careful in my packing! I use sturdy cardboard mailers and LP stiffeners. Posters are carefully sleeved in plastic and then taped within a strong cardboard tube to eliminate any damage. Most records shipped from overseas arrive w/out shrink wrap & are in plastic sleeves. For these records I remove the records from the covers/inners w extreme care & slip in another PVC sleeve, this eliminates any possibility of cover splits in shipping. For sealed records I do not offer this option. All records marked as SS are truly brand new un-played factory sealed. I will combine shipping for multiple items wherever possible. All orders ship via US Postal Service (usps.com). I charge the actual postage & a tiny fee for mailer & handling. All orders ship within 3 work days, most within 24hours.
Return policy
We accept returns on items where there is an error in the listing. Your full payment, including shipping, will be refunded upon return of merchandise in same condition it was sent to you. For new vinyl records, the industry standard has been one way sales for over 15 years now, so we cannot accept returns for records with hidden defects. Any other returns will be for exchange if we have another of same item in stock.

Recent Feedback!
Dear Chris,
I received the Madder Rose vinyls this morning, and I only wish that I could leave you the most glowing positive feedback for selling me these unbelievably beautiful, scarce, and wonderful items! Apart from the obvious mint condition of all of these gems, you must be the most conscientious and skilled packer of records I have ever encountered anywhere, and I have been buying vinyl for 35 years. The obvious care in packing is something you should pride yourself on and it is little wonder why you are a top eBayer. You spared no expense in making this one of the nicest shipments of desired recordings I've ever received.
I cannot say thanks and AAA+++ on the site, but I am saying it to you now, in my letter. You made my day, my friend. If I am ever in Connecticut, I'd love to see your store--if you have a bricks and mortar type one! You are not only a top rated eBayer, but a top rated person in my book. You will get my 10 star rating for this one!
thanks! Ken
