I've been painting for many years. However, it's never been a hugh capitalist venue for me. I prefer to sell on my own through our studio. We also host an outdoor sculpture show on our property each July. I'm the only 2D artist involved. Last year I was surrounded by 22 wonderful 3D artists. Not a bad gig.
I also assist my husband in our hardware business. We make custom order, cast bronze door and cabinet hardware.
