Hardened steel as advertised but in yellow or iridescent zinc plating and not bright zinc like the picture shows, but who cares, worked great on my '10 Ranger 4.0 rebuild of the thermo housing assy with a Dorman cast alum housing replacing the factory plastic one and its corroded bolts.
