Many of you see “ HOME of the OFFICE” Scranton, Pennsylvania in our listings. In 2005, Northeast Pennsylvania was back in the worldwide spotlight. This time it was not for coalmines or the Steam Railroads. NBC picked Scranton to base the Fictional paper supply Company Dunder Mifflin. The television comedy was an instant hit with many locals and nationwide. The show mentions many real Scranton businesses and landmarks like Farley’s Eatery & Pub, Mall at Steamtown, Coopers seafood, Lake Wallenpaupack and Montage Mountain (Sno Mountain now). In 2006, the show took home the Primetime Emmy award for Best Comedy Series. In October 2007 Scranton Held the 1st “OFFICE CONVENTION” a 3-day event. Many of us were surprised at the 1000’s of fans that came from across the country and worldwide to Scranton for this event. The show continues to be a local favorite and gain new fans worldwide.
