eBay My World: snookiestreasures( 466)

Hi out there in cyber space. I am a recently retired 6th grade social studies teacher. I have been a garage sale and auction affectionado for a long,long,long time.I have tried to save odd and wierd items for posterity.

I have tried to sell at outdoor sales, a case at an antique mall and consignment. I really never made and money because of costs. No that I am home ebay suits me just fine. I have an odd sense of humor and have a sense of history. I know some of these things like 200 shriner cake pics would be cherished by someone. So I buy it. I have been selling off years worth of things collected things in bins. Things I like but can live without.

I am not buying much at present. If i do they are small and easy to pack like jewelry. Here is the game I am playing in my head. If I go out and garage, I note the milage and gas prices and try to buy items that I think would sell to ofset my expenses. I am keeping a journal to see what the profit really is after expenses. Up till now I was just reducing things to move and having a great time with customers and learning the slow way. I am horrible with the computer but am learning on a very slow learning curve. I try to make by customers happy with good communication, decent prices and good packing. It has been mostly fun, thanks to the mostly great ebay community.

I personally collect art deco items, bakelite and pretties of jewelry or glass. My son likes snoopy, vintage bowling and the muppets. If I need to buy or replace a household item, I would purchase an antique or vintage piece that is usable. When I finally move to Arkansas I plan on having a vintage house. It is expensive to move long distance. I would like to start over with a sixties room, like the kitchen and am art deco room and the rest shabby chic. I cant believe I am this old and that I like older things.

if you read this or care. after on year of retirement and ebay, sold 308 items and learned a great deal. this experience was mostly fun. once a termite issure is solved i will close on a house and move to arkansas from illinois. hope to start the business in ark but need to get new items. i hope they have good garage sales, since my house will be once again furnished in garage beauties. moving long distance is expencive so only the necessities are going, you would be how much becomes sentimental or loved. will open up snookies treasures as soon as the computer is hooked and i find treasures. if you looked at this good luck to you and may God bless you in your endeavorsw snookie added nov 13, 2008 . have been in hot springs village ar, for about 4 months now. love the trees, fall and larger critters, not the bug i thought was a mouse. this is a slower and gentler way to live. Its hard to move away far, but this is a great place to grow old in.
