I focus on rare and collectible 18th, 19th, and 20th century first editions. I treat other collectors as if were were all part of one big family: If you want information, I provide it. If I make a mistake, I take full responsibility for making it better-than-right for you. If you have complicated requests or special instructions, I won't fault you for that.
Simply email me through Ebay if you have any problem with your purchase, and then give me about three hours (during the East Coast work day) to resolve it to your satisfaction. With no red tape or run-arounds!
This personal approach to customers is why, after hundreds of Ebay sales, I still haven't had a single unhappy customer.
Payment policy
I rely exclusively on PayPal in order to provide truly exceptional customer service. Payment may be made any time in the three days after an item's sale.
Shipping information
I ship quickly! Within one business day after your payment. But Media Rate and Parcel Post aren't nearly as fast as we are. It might take the Post Office as little as 3 days to deliver your book via those methods, or, in rare cases, as long as 2-3 weeks. Those shipping options are particularly slow to Hawaii, Alaska, the West Coast, and other far-away places. If you need your package to arrive quickly, and you live more than 200 miles away from Massachusetts, please choose PRIORITY mail shipping. I self-insure all of my Ebay sales against loss or damage in transit, but I have never(!) had any of our items damaged in transit. (It's simple: I pack books extraordinarily well! Crush-proofed, water-proofed, & scratch-proofed.) I do not charge for shipping & handling. We pay for the expensive cartons, tape, wrapping, paper, labeling, printing supplies, and tracking #. The only exception is a rare surcharge for unusually heavy or fragile item. See item descriptions in such a case.
Return policy
Did I make a significant error in a book description? If so please allow me to positively scramble to make it up to you! For a full refund, simply (a) contact me for authorization and packing tips, and then (b) return the book to me in its original condition within 14 days after I delivered the book -- and with a tracking number, delivery confirmation, or insurance. Then I'll reimburse you -- including the equivalent of a Parcel Post rate for your return shipping cost. Did you damage our book, but still want to return it? I can provide a partial refund based on my estimate of its remaining market value (I consider such things as: new writing and marks, soil, bumped corners, creases, scratches, stains, etc). See your item's auction text for details, exceptions, or modifications to our policies.
